The pool
Australia's only saltwater lagoon pool system, a one-acre tangle of beaches, islands and tropical fish.
The lagoon at the JW Marriott Gold Coast is fed directly from the Pacific and stocked with over a hundred species of marine fish. The water is gently filtered but otherwise wild, the sand soft underfoot, and the planting around the edges is true subtropical jungle.
It is the closest thing on the Gold Coast to a Polynesian atoll, minus the flight. Rent a mask from reception, Snorkel between coral outcrops to the deeper end, and watch the parrotfish drift past you.
