A love letter to saltwater.
Saltwater Wanderer is a curated directory and digest devoted to the world's most beautiful saltwater pools — and the simple, gentler way they treat the water we swim in.
Who we are
We're lifelong travelers who believes a great pool is more than a hole filled with water. It's a place to slow down, look up at the sky, and feel the day soften around you.
Saltwater Wanderer began as a private spreadsheet of hotels with saltwater pools — the kind we'd send to friends planning honeymoons and long weekends away. It outgrew the spreadsheet. Now it's here, open to anyone who'd rather plan a trip around the pool than around the airport.
Why this site
Information about saltwater pools is scattered — buried in hotel FAQs, hidden three taps deep on booking sites, or simply mislabeled. If you care about what's in the water you swim in, you shouldn't have to dig.
We do the digging. Every listing has been researched, cross-checked, and described honestly so you can find a pool that fits the trip you're actually planning — whether that's a glacial saltwater plunge in Patagonia or an infinity edge above the Aegean.
While we haven't visited all of the pools in this directory, listings are curated on merit according to our research.
Curious about the water — or how we work?
We've gathered answers to the questions we hear most — saltwater pool basics, how the directory is curated, and the small ways AI helps us research.
