The pool
A small saltwater pool in the pines just back from Migjorn, on the slow-paced Balearic island south of Ibiza.
Formentera has resisted the development that overran neighbouring Ibiza, and Teranka — a small boutique near Migjorn beach — feels of a piece with that restraint. The pool is a discreet rectangle in a clearing of Aleppo pines, bordered by limestone and shaded in the late afternoon by the trees.
The water is salt-filtered, the loungers are simple wooden beds with linen cushions, and the wifi is deliberately weak. Walk five minutes through the pines and you reach one of the great undeveloped beaches of the Mediterranean.
