The pool
A small saltwater pool on a private island in Lake Nicaragua, in the shadow of Mombacho.
Jicaro is a tiny private island in Lake Nicaragua, near Granada, with a handful of stilted casitas built from reclaimed wood. The saltwater pool sits at the water's edge, looking out toward Mombacho volcano.
The lake is too unpredictable to swim in safely — but the pool, cool and clear, is the perfect substitute.
